Happy Birthday Harbhajan Singh: India’s legendary spinner turns 40

Sharing is caring!

After making his international debut in March 1998, Harbhajan represented India in 103 Tests and 236 ODIs.

Veteran Team India’s cricketer Harbhajan Singh celebrated his 40th birthday on Friday (3 July), ever since the crowd of spinners’ fans gathered.

After making his international debut in March 1998, Harbhajan represented India in 103 Tests and 236 ODIs.

However, Harbhajan did not make his team India’s career so easy as the bowler received a lot of criticism over his bowling action and his disciplinary issues.

But it was under the guidance of Sourav Ganguly, who showed tremendous confidence in replacing legendary bowler Anil Kumble after he injured veteran spinner Anil Kumble ahead of the 2001 Test series against Australia.

Harbhajan repaid his captain’s confidence in superb style, taking 32 wickets in the three-match series.

The 40-year-old is now also the first Indian bowler to score a hat-trick in Tests during India’s second match in Kolkata, which is considered one of the best performances in the history of red ball cricket.

From Suresh Raina to Mohammad Kaif, this is how the cricket fraternity wished Harbhajan a happy birthday:
