Pepper James speaking on what happened on last night’s Bachelor in Paradise.
In case you haven’t noticed, Piper and Brendan Morais were heard discussing their Instagram follower count after they first got linked in June, and when she arrived on the program, asked him out on a date while he was coupled up with Natasha Parker.
Until this week’s episode, Brendan and Pepper denied there was anything between them.
Fans certainly had a strong reaction to the private conversation that was aired.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, Pepper addressed the uproar.
“Just an [sic] gentle reminder that reality tv isn’t real,” she wrote. “An edited, produced, and cut down show isn’t going to show you every single thing said and done. An edited and produced show can’t show you conversations that happened before filming between friends.”
Pieper went on, writing, “I make light of this show because it’s a light hearted show. I don’t believe in pitting women against each other. I don’t believe men are prizes to be won at the expense of someone’s feelings. I believe in open communication to get answers, not name calling on the internet.”
“At the end of the day it’s a tv show,” she added. “We the viewers are shown what makes the best television, just as [with] any show. And folk what we have here is a very successful show.”
After the conversation aired, both Piper and Brendan lost several Instagram followers.
