Sonu Sood has been a true hero for so many during these difficult times. He has helped millions of migrants and daily wage laborers to reach their homes amid the epidemic-induced lockout. In addition to this, they have also introduced an app, where they provide employment for migrant workers who have lost their means of living, have brought books and equipment for those who cannot afford it. , and many more.
Now, the ‘messiahs’ of the people have come up with another initiative to help the students. He is fully ready to start a scholarship program for underprivileged students under his mother Saroj Sood.
In a Times of India report, Sonu was quoted as saying that in the lockdown in the last few months he saw how the underprivileged were struggling to support their children’s education. Given that classes are currently online, many people do not have access to computers, phones, or WiFi. And due to loss of jobs, many parents are not able to pay the fees. Sonu explains this and says that he has decided to partner with universities across the country.
He also says that his mother was a professor, who taught in Moga, Punjab. He always asks her to pursue her tasks and she says that this is the best time to fulfill her wish.
Talking about the program, Sonu says that anyone whose annual income is less than 2 lakhs can apply for the scholarship. Only their educational record should be in good condition. Fees, accommodation, food, everything will be taken care of under this program.
The scholarship will be available to students in other courses including Medicine, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Automation, Cyberspace, Data Science, Fashion, Journalism and Business Studies.
It sure is a great act, isn’t it? More power to you, Sonu.
