
Mahesh Bhatt’s ‘Arth’ was a 1982 hit film starring Khulbushan Kharbanda. Now, it seems that the film is set to be a remake and Bobby Deol has reportedly confirmed that he is in talks to be a part of the project.
According to an exclusive Times of India, Bobby confirmed these reports saying that he is in talks, but has not signed anything yet.
The film is set to be played by actor and director Revathi. And the article also mentions that Swara Bhaskar and Jacqueline Fernandez are believed to play female lead roles in the film. The publication also stated that Taapsee Pannu was also approached to play the role of Shabana Azmi, but had to decline it due to prior work commitments.
Incidentally, the director of the remake, Revathi, played the role of Shabana Azmi in the Tamil remake of the film, titled ‘Marupadiyum’. She reportedly did not want to direct the film, but agreed after talking with Mahesh Bhatt.
On the work front, Bobby made an impressive debut with his web series, Aashram. Even he recently won the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Award for his performance in the series. The actor also featured in the film, ‘Class of ’83’ and after this he is going to star in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Animal’.
