Sharing is caring!

Dev Patel’s first directorial film has been acquired by Netflix in a $30 million deal. The film depicts Dev as an unlikely protagonist who breaks out of prison in a world gripped by corporate greed and declining spiritual values. His character seeks revenge from those who took everything away from him a few years ago.

After watching the film’s footage, Netflix beat other bidders to close the deal with the producers. People who have seen the footage of the film are calling it John Wick in Mumbai. The film is slated for release on Netflix in 2022, filming for which has been completed. The film is partly inspired by the Hindu god Hanuman, who is half monkey and half-human. The film was to be shot in India last year, but due to the pandemic, it was again taken to Indonesia. The film will also star Sobhita Dhulipala, Sikander Kher, and Sharlto Copley.

According to Deadline.com, Dev is thrilled that the film will be released on Netflix and that his work will now become the work of the world.

The movie is writtern by Dev Patel, Paul Angunella and his Hotel Mumbai collaborator John Collee. The buzz of this revenge thriller is loud and we can’t wait to see the hard work on Netflix next year.
