Last year, we heard some super exciting news about the hindi remake of the Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro’s 2015 film ‘The Intern’. Deepika Padukone and Rishi Kapoor were set to play the lead roles, but due to the unfortunate demise of veteran actor Rishi Kapoor, the film was put on hold.
Now, the news is that Amitabh Bachchan is set to play the role of Robert De Niro as a retired gentleman who decides to intern at the newly-fledged digital company led by Deepika Padukone’s character.
Bollywood Hungama quoted a source as saying that the film was stalled due to Rishi Ji’s death and the producers had to re-analyze the casting. Now, sources say that they have finally zeroed in on Amitabh Bachchan and talks are on with the cast to finalize the dates.
Amitabh & Deepika were last seen together in Piku. This time, we know that they are stepping into two characters, who are joined by a loving, sweet bond and I can’t wait to see the magic they create together onscreen!
