Parineeti Chopra shares that she took tips from Priyanka Chopra for her role in Saina

Sharing is caring!

Parineeti Chopra is on a roll! After her performance in ‘Girl on the Train‘ received some rave reviews, she has now moved on to her next film, the biopic ‘Saina’. This is the first time that Parineeti is playing a role where she is reprising the role of a real-life sports champion.

Saina’s story is how Saina Nehwal, the world No.1 badminton champion, rose to the top. It is about her family and her journey from a middle-class family to being a name in every household in India. Certainly, Parineeti made a grueling preparation by learning the game, for it to look real on-screen. But there is more to it than this and she says that it is something for which she seeks the help and advice of her sister Priyanka Chopra.

PC has played a similar role when she reprized the character of boxing champion Mary Kom. Pari, in an interview with Pinkvilla, states that she went to PC for advice and had lots of suggestions. She says that they talked a lot about the look. PC explicitly advised her not to go for prosthetics, but to mold herself and her body language like that of Saina’s. Pari states that PC did the same for Mary Kom – she did not look exactly like her , but she transformed herself with the right body language and attitude.

Directed by Amol Gupte and produced by T-Series, Saina is set to release theatrically on March 26, 2021.
