
Ajay Devgn’s upcoming film, Maidan, was scheduled to be released in November last year, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the dates had to be moved around. Now, finally, with the industry resuming, the film was scheduled to go on floors in January. But, with the director, Amit Sharma, testing positive for Coronavirus, the entire shoot had to be stopped. Now, he has tested negative and is ready to resume shooting.
Amit had tested positive for the virus earlier this month and quarantined himself at home. Now, as he has tested negative, and feeling better, he is eager to get back to work. The makers are all set to make preparations to get the shooting back on track.
Maidan is a story based on the much acclaimed football coach, Syed Abdul Rahim. This will be the first time Ajay will play the role of a sports trainer. He will also be accompanied by Priyamani in the film along with Gagjraj Rao, who is playing an important role in the film. The film is being produced by Boney Kapoor and Zee Studios, in association with Freshlime Films and is set to release this Dussehra on 15 October 2021.
