Chehre, a mystery-thriller film directed by Rumi Jaffrey and produced by Anand Pandit’s Motion Pictures and Saraswati Entertainment Pvt Ltd, will feature Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi in lead roles. The film, backed by Anand Pandit Motion Pictures and Saraswati Entertainment Pvt Ltd, is scheduled for theatrical release on August 27.
In an interview with ETimes, director Rumi spoke about the film, his experience and shared how he was excited to direct a film which is quite different from all his previous films. He further added that Emraan and Amitabh are very similar when it comes to professionalism and their work in this film is superb. Chehre will also feature Krystle D’Souza and Rhea Chakraborty in lead roles.
Speaking about his experience working with Emraan and Amitabh, Rumi says-
After we finalised Amitabh Bachchan for Chehre, we started looking for other actors. I was looking for the second lead and Emraan fit right into the character I had envisioned. Even though I had never worked with him before, I had heard a lot about him in the industry. He is truly like Amit ji when it comes to professionalism–dedicated, hardworking and allows nothing to interfere with his work. He is very involved in the work he does. I wanted somebody just like him. When I approached him with Chehre, he, too, loved his character and was happy to come on board. Emraan’s work has turned out to be even better than I expected.
The release date of the film had to be changed 3-4 times due to the pandemic, but now that the film finally deals with this week, I am super excited to see what they have in store for us!
