Many amazing actors from the entertainment world have passed away over the years and now, it is veteran actress Farooq Zafar who has gone to heaven. The 89-year-old actress was last seen in Shoojit Sircar’s Gulabo Sitabo, playing Amitabh Bachchan’s wife. The actress was not keeping well and was admitted to the hospital earlier this month. She breathed her last in Lucknow last evening, she will be cremated today.
Talking about her demise to PTI, daughter Mehru Jaffer said…
“She was admitted to the hospital on October 4 due to breathlessness. She was not well. Her lungs were unable to take the oxygen that had been given to her. She passed away in the evening at around 6 pm.”
On the work front, Farooq has played many memorable roles. Her first film was the role of Rekha’s mother in Umrao Jaan. Other infamous projects on his filmography include Peepli Live, Swades, Parched, Aligarh and Sultan. However, her most acclaimed performance was in Gulabo Sitabo, as Fatima Begum.
