When I saw Bunty Aur Babli starring Rani Mukerji and Abhishek Bachchan, believe me I was doubly blown with laughter at the hilarious performances. Veteran Amitabh Bachchan added to the fun and the songs were fun too. And so when the makers announced the crime-comedy sequel, I couldn’t hold back my excitement. Just in this the handsome Saif Ali Khan will play the role of Bunty along with Rani Ki Babli and the new ones joining him will be Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari. And now, the makers have released the teaser of Bunty Aur Babli 2 and I have tears of laughter.

The video begins with Rani and Saif talking about how they are coming back together after 12 years and how they missed working with each other. Well to be honest, his fans also missed him. We cannot forget their mind-blowing chemistry in Hum Tum and Tara*** Pum and time and again, they have proved that they rule when it comes to comic timing. However, I was taken aback by the striking antics of Siddhant and Sharvari in the teaser. For beginners, he is super confident and the way he has expressed emotions in this one minute 26 second video is amazing.
Interestingly, Siddhant and Sharvari will also play Bunty and Babli in the film, but will represent the younger generation. I am guessing that the makers have hinted at the plot here with possible confusion over the two Bunty-Babli jodis. But we must wait and see!
Speaking about the film, Saif said earlier:
Bunty Aur Babli 2 is a completely rebooted sequel and is set in today’s time. It is a fantastic script that hooked me on instantly. It is an out and out entertainer for the entire family to sit and enjoy, and this is what I loved and connected with. Also, it is a new role, language and milieu and that’s what I really look for in a script. I also love the dynamics between the originals and the new Bunty and Babli in the film. It is fresh, hilarious and extremely engaging. Rani and I have always had a lot of fun working with each other, and I am looking forward to our creative collaboration again. It is also equally amazing to be back home at YRF again.

The video is a true reflection of what the film has to offer to audiences which is non-stop entertainment and non-stop comedy. Though in the unit, we play ourselves and not the characters in the film, it has been smartly written with trolling humour as Saif and I go after Siddhant and Sharvari and vice versa.
Produced by Aditya Chopra of YRF, Bunty Aur Babli 2 will be directed by Varun V Sharma. While the makers have promised to drop the trailer on October 25, the film is set to hit the theaters on November 19, 2021. The teaser and the amazing chemistry between the four leads has made me completely impatient for the release of the sequel. The Saif-Rani reunion is finally happening.
