Matt Bomer is taking on a new role!

Variety reports that the 43-year-old actor is set to star in and executive produce an adaptation of Thomas Mallon’s novel Fellow Travelers at Showtime.

Here’s a synopsis: “Fellow Travelers is described as a political thriller and epic love story that unfolds in the era of McCarthyism and resolves in the age of AIDS. It follow the intertwined lives and volatile romance of two very different men, Hawkins “Hawk” Fuller (Bomer) and Tim Kovacs, through purges, wars, protests, and plagues, overcoming obstacles in the world and in themselves.”

Ron Niswaner, best known for his work on the Academy Award-winning film Philadelphia, is set to adapt the book for the screen.

Earlier this summer it was announced that Matt has joined the cast of the upcoming Netflix thriller series Echoes.
