A new star is coming to Charmed!
Following the exit of Madeleine Mantock, who announced she was leaving the series back in July, The CW’s reboot of the series has cast a new star as the new “Charmed One”, starring Melonie Diaz, Sarah Jeffrey, Rupert Evans and Jordan Donica.
New showrunners Jeffrey Lieber, Nikki Raina and Joey Falco revealed via Variety that Lucy Barrett will be playing the role, and described her as: “An artist, with a wild, unpredictable love for life and a one-of-a-kind view of the world that serves her well in her art, which is her life’s passion. She’s fun, irreverent, impulsive, strong-willed, and will bring brand-new energy to the Power of Three.”
Her name, backstory, powers, and connection with Mel and Maggie are yet to be revealed.
In Season 4, Mel and Maggie find their lives changed by the death of their beloved sister, Macy. But when their grief threatens to destroy the Three’s power forever, the surprise arrival of the Third Charmed One (Barrett) gives them a new opportunity to fulfill their destiny. And it couldn’t have come at a better time, as a mysterious new enemy is rising in the shadows, creating fear in every corner of the magical world. But as this new foe draws the Charmed Ones and their allies Harry (Evans) and Jordan (Donica) deeper into a twisted game, will this new trio be ready for what’s to come?
Lucy has starred in Co-Ed, The Wrong Girl, Bloom and Neighbors.
“Life’s good, let’s eat,” she said on social media upon the reveal of the casting.
