Kate Middleton on Saturday (September 11) wrote a personal note of congratulations to Emma Raducanu, who won the 2021 US Open.
The 18-year-old British tennis player clinched the title by defeating Canada’s Leyla Fernandez for the title this afternoon.
Taking to her and Prince William’s Instagram account after the award ceremony, Kate wrote a congratulatory message to the young tennis star.
“Huge congratulations @EmmaRaducanu on your stunning performances and historic Grand Slam victory! Incredible –we are all so proud of you,” Kate captioned on the platform, with an image of Emma holding up the championship cup.
She also added another note for Leyla, which read,“well done on your amazing achievements at this year’s #USOpen, it’s been a pleasure to watch.”
Kate is an avid tennis fan, and has attended several Wimbledon events in recent years.
