RuPaul is on a roll!
60-year-old drag icon’s hit competition series RuPaul’s Drag Race reigned during the 2021 Creative Arts Emmy Awards on Sunday (September 12).
RuPaul won for hosting a reality or competition program for the sixth time in a row, and the show led to casting, as well as picture editing, and directing a reality program (Nick Murray) for a reality TV program, which it also won in 2018. RuPaul’s Drag Race Untucked also won for the first time unstructured reality.
If RuPaul’s show wins an Emmy during the ceremony later this month, it will join The Voice as the second most respected series in the competition program category. (Only The Amazing Race has more.)
Congratulations to RuPaul and the team! There is also some big international news for the series.
