In the midst of the anniversary of the September 11 attacks in 2001, a story is going viral on social media.
In an interview with Pittsburgh’s WPXI, a woman recalled going to work at the Twin Towers that morning—and the reason she was late to work is getting a lot of attention.
Sarah Botkin found a temporary job at Aon Corporation in New York City, located on the 105th floor of the South Tower of the World Trade Center.
Sarah was running late that day as she stopped at a store to buy a new CD from Mariah Carey, who had released Glitter the same day, which may have saved her life.
“I think it’s got to be luck. So many people said God was watching out for me that day. And I believe in God, but I can’t think that he would be a God that would watch out for all those people who lost their lives. Fathers and daughters and mothers and sons. So, I just think I was really lucky,” she explained.
When the first plane hit, she was still on the concourse, about to get on the elevator.
“When I looked outside it was a stunning scene, it looked New Year’s Eve, just all the debris in the air, papers flying,” she said.
