Ryan Phillippe shares his thoughts on his kids watching ‘Cruel Intentions’

Sharing is caring!

Ryan Phillippe absolutely doesn’t want his kids to see his hit film Cruel Intentions.

In a new interview, the 47-year-old actor admitted he’s not pushing his kids, 22-year-old Ava and 17-year-old Deacon, to see his R-rated cult classic film, which made him and his mom Reese Witherspoon huge stars.

“You know, I haven’t checked back in with them about it now that they’re both of age,” Ryan told E! News. “I don’t know if it would be creepy for them, you know? In some ways, like if I were to think about watching my parents do some of the things that their parents do in that movie, it wouldn’t be the most appetizing or appealing notion.”

In Cruel Intentions, 45-year-old Ryan and Reese play toxic love interests. The film was released in 1999, the same year they got married. They got divorced in 2007.

Thanks to YouTube, Ryan is pretty sure Ava and Deacon have seen some scenes of cruel intentions.

“You know what, I know that they’ve seen clips and things like on social media, that’s for sure, but I don’t know if they’ve actually watched the movie,” Ryan continued. “I think it would embarrass me a little bit, you know, I still believe it very much holds up, but, it was really racy. It was really an R rated movie, heavy R.”
