MJ Rodriguez talks about her historic Emmy nomination, says she has a speech planned

MJ Rodriguez recently made Emmy history when she became the first trans actress to receive nominations in the lead acting categories.

The 30-year-old Pose actress opened up about the nominations while attending the Television Academy’s Reception to Honor 73rd Emmy Awards Nominees at the Television Academy on Friday night (September 17) in Los Angeles

“Yes, it’s historic. It’s a moment that I think I’ll never forget and I’m glad that people in my life can come and celebrate this moment with me. It’s big,” Mj told Variety on the red carpet.

Mj added, “I do have a speech written just in case.”

She also said, “I am testimony that it is possible. There’s no excuses. The door is wide open and you can run right through it. There’s no crack. There’s no slipping in.”

.MJ is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Blanca Rodriguez.
