Kate Winslet wins Outstanding Lead Actress for ‘Mare of Easttown’ at Emmy Awards 2021!

Kate Winslet is an Emmy winner!

The 45-year-old actress accepted the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series award for her role in Easttown’s mare at The Event Deck at LA Live in Los Angeles on Sunday (September 19).

“Mom! They’re standing up,” she said at the start of her speech. She went on to thank her fellow nominees and added, “In this decade that has to be about women having each other’s backs.”

She then thanked series producer Brad Inglesby for creating “a middle-aged imperfectly flawed mother” as well as director Craig Zobel.

Kate ended her speech by thanking her co-stars Evan Peters and Julian Nicholson, as well as “the almighty Jean Smart.” She also shouted to her kids and her husband, Edward Smith, “who I get to hold hands with for the rest of my life.”

“Yeah, I’m the winner!” He said leaving the stage. Watch his full speech below!

Kate was up against Michaela Coel, Cynthia Erivo, Elizabeth Olsen and Anya Taylor-Joy for the award.
