
Kerry Washington paid tribute to Michael K. Williams at the 2021 Emmy Awards on The Event Deck at LA Live on Sunday (September 19) in Los Angeles.
Kerry presented the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series and honored Michael, who was nominated in that category for his work on Lovecraft Country.
Kerry called him a “brilliantly talented actor and a generous human being who has left us far too soon.”
“I know you’re here because you wouldn’t miss this. Your excellence, your artistry will endure. We love you,” she added.
The award went to Tobias Menzies for his work in The Crown.
Michael died suddenly at the age of 54 after being found dead in his apartment in New York City. tear out.
