RuPaul’s Drag Race is being represented at the Emmys!
Host RuPaul, judge Michelle Visage, RuPaul’s Drag Race season 12 winner Symone and finalist Gottmikgraced the L.A. in Los Angeles on Sunday (Sept. 19). posing together on the red carpet at the 2021 Emmy Awards on the event deck in Live.
RuPaul’s Drag Race has had an incredible run at the Emmys: RuPaul won for hosting a reality or competition program for the sixth time in a row during the 2021 Creative Arts Emmy Awards, and the show won for casting for a reality TV program, as well as with photo editing, and directing a reality show, which it also won in 2018. RuPaul’s Drag Race Untucked also won for the first time unstructured reality.
If RuPaul’s show wins an Emmy during the evening’s ceremony, it will join The Voice as the second most respected series in the competition program category. (Only The Amazing Race has more.)
This year’s Emmys ceremony is being hosted by Cedric the Entertainer and the show will air on CBS and the Paramount+ streaming service. The Creative Arts Emmys were handed out last weekend and the full winners list for those awards has already been announced!
