Betty Gilpin is taking on an exciting new role!
Deadline announced Monday (September 20) that the Glo actress will star in the new drama series Three Women at Showtime alongside Shailene Woodley and DeWanda Wise.
The show is based on the nonfiction bestseller by Lisa Taddeo, who wrote the adaptation.
Here’s a plot summary: “The series will tell the stories of three women: Lina (Betty), an Indiana woman in a passionless marriage who embarks on an all-consuming affair; Sloane (DeWanda), an entrepreneur from the Northeast who has a committed open marriage until two sexy strangers threaten her and her husband’s aspirational love story; and Maggie, a student in North Dakota who accuses her married English teacher of an inappropriate relationship.”
The three women also follow Gia, a writer played by Shailene, who mourns the loss of her family, who convinces each of these women to tell their own stories. Gia’s story parallels Lisa’s time working on Three Women, which took her more than a decade to research and write.
Production for the series is expected to begin in the coming months.
