In case you didn’t know, 33-year-old Julianne faced a lot of criticism following the announcement that she would judge the new CBS series, which will follow activists around the world.

Many called the show “tone deaf” and described how Julian wore blackface with his Halloween costume in 2013.

Julian then responded to the criticism, admitting that she was “not qualified to act as a judge.”

During his appearance at the 2021 iHeartRadio music festival over the weekend, Derek, 36, responded to Julian’s response to the backlash.

“I’m proud of her, man. I think she’s an amazing, amazing woman,” Derek shared with People. “I mean, she’s my baby sister, but I’m learning lessons from her every single day, just about how to be an amazing human being.”

Derek added, “She’s just growing so much and it just, I just, I’m in awe of her all the time. She’s awesome.”
