The makers of the hit Netflix limited series The Queen’s Gambit are responding to speculation about a possible second season after the show’s Emmy win.
Scott Frank answers questions in the press room at the 2021 Emmy Awards on the event deck at LA Live on Sunday (Sept. 19) in Los Angeles.
He was joined by the show’s star Anya Taylor-Joy along with cast members Marielle Heller and Moses Ingram, as well as more members of the creative team.
“I’m so sorry. I hate disappointing anyone, but no. I feel like we told the story we wanted to tell, and I worry –let me put it differently– I’m terrified that if we try to tell more, we would ruin what we’ve already told,” Scott said (via Deadline). “I’ll never say never, but I feel so good about what we did, I would hate to soil the memory.”
Executive producer William Horberg revealed some exciting news.
“We’re all certainly going to keep working together and try to find another story to tell with the same passion and team of amazing artists,” he said.
Anya added, “Absolutely.”
