A body matching the description of 22-year-old missing woman Gabby Petito has been found, and we await autopsy results to confirm that it is her.
Gabby went missing while traveling with her partner, Brian Laundrie. Brian Laundrie is apparently now missing as his family claims they haven’t seen him since last Tuesday. He is considered a person of interest but refuses to sit down with the police to talk about Gabby’s disappearance.
Now, since August 27, Gabby’s final text to her mom, Nicole Schmidt, has been revealed.
According to a warrant that was released, Nichole said she received an “odd text” that read, “Can you help Stan, I just keep getting his voicemails and missed calls.” “Stan” is actually Gabby‘s grandfather, but Nichole explained that Gabby never called him Stan.
“The mother was concerned that something was wrong with her daughter,” the warrant continued. “This is the last communication anyone had with the subject. Her cellphone was no longer operational, and she stopped posting anything on social media about their trip. Per her family, this was not normal behavior for the subject, and they became more worried about her.”
Gabby’s mom said she talked to her daughter constantly during her visit with her daughter’s Laundrie. “During these conversations there appeared to be more and more tension between her and Laundrie,” the warrant added.
