John Cena has landed a new action movie role!
Deadline reports that the 44-year-old The Suicide Squad actor will star in Freelance, which will be directed by Taken’s Pierre Morel.
Freelance will follow a Special Forces operator (Cena) who decides to retire from the military and start a family back in the States.
After years of mortgage payments, school skipping, backyard barbecues and trying to conform to life in the suburb, he decides to come out of retirement to take a gig to provide security for a female journalist as she interviews a ruthless dictator who may or may not have ordered an attack on him and his men.
Then, when a military coup breaks out in the middle of the interview, the trio are forced to flee into the woods, where they must escape the elements, the military, and each other.
The picture is set to begin filming in Colombia early next year.
