
Peter Scolari died tragically at the age of 66.
According to Deadline, the acclaimed actor passed away on Friday morning (October 22) after a two-year battle with cancer.
Peter was best known for starring alongside Tom Hanks in the comedy series * Friends and in the comedy Newhart. He recently won an Emmy Award for playing the father of Lena Dunham’s character in the HBO series Girls and most recently in the CBS series Evil as Bishop Thomas Marks.
In addition to his screen performances, Peter was a prolific stage actor, appearing on Broadway in shows such as Wicked, Hairspray, Sly Fox, and Lucky Guy.
