The family of late actor Brandon Lee speaks out after a tragic accident on the set of Alec Baldwin’s film Rust.
In case you haven’t heard yet, a prop gun that Alec was handling misfired and tragically killed cinematographer Halyana Hutchins and seriously injured director Joel Souza.
Brandon, the son of the late action star Bruce Lee, was murdered in 1993 on the set of The Crow after an actor opened fire with a gun he believed was filled with blankets. The actor shot and hit Lee in the stomach from a distance of 15-20 feet. It was later discovered that the tip of a * cartridge was locked in the gun and the actor was fired with blanks.
Brandon’s sister Shannon Lee maintains a Twitter account to honor her legacy.
After hearing the tragic news, Shannon tweeted, “Our hearts go out to the family of Halyna Hutchins and to Joel Souza and all involved in the incident on Rust. No one should ever be killed by a gun on a film set. Period.”
Brandon’s name is trending on Twitter tonight, while people are reminded of the tragic accident that happened almost 30 years ago. Read some of the tweets below.
